For over 30 years, Brooks Stevens, Inc. has worked with Briggs & Stratton Corporation, the world’s largest manufacturer of small gasoline engines, assisting in the design and development of their extensive line of engines and consumer products.
Recently, we collaborated with Briggs & Stratton to design a new line of 8 -18hp single cylinder gasoline engines for the world wide lawn and garden market. The objective was to create a sleek, contemporary design that would complement the designs of today’s modern tractors and reflect the engines’ advanced technology, while incorporating user maintenance features, such as easy, tool-free access to the air filter.
The new engines replaced the former stamped and painted sheet metal blower housings with molded structural plastic, reducing the number of parts, simplifying manufacturing, and reducing production costs.
