BSi assumed responsibility for the refinement and manufacturing engineering of a new line of in-line skates after Rollerblade’s in-house design team had received management approval of the conceptual design proposal.
Styling and functional detail were finalized, ergonomics refined, and the engineering for the core size skate completed, prototyped, and verified. Upon approval of the core skate size, BSi developed a scaling formula on which the 3D CAD database could be scaled to significantly reduce the time required to engineer the smaller and larger lateral skate sizes. This process not only improved the accuracy of the engineering data, but also resulted in a substantial compression of the time-to-market and development cost savings.
